Roann tells all of her English father turned Tantric Masseur, her Muslim mother who insists on open dialogue; and how she has been caught in the middle since the age of six.
In this journey of self-discovery, Roann McCloskey takes on sex, sexuality and power, as she shares navigating her life as a queer, British-Algerian woman that will have you laughing, crying and pondering the name you’ve given your genitals.
Finding The mythic in the mundane!
These Folk is an improvised, mythical, musical, folk tale brought to you by veteran improvisers (as seen in Showstopper! The Improvised Musical) Justin Brett and Susan Harrison.
Inspired by audience suggestions and accompanied by the very best improvisational musicians, they weave a folk tale as old as time and as new as the moment it was created in.
"These Folk is that rare combo of beautiful and funny. I laughed, I cried, and I walked away completely inspired"
Kevin John Gillese
Bob Sinfield is an actor, author, presenter and freelance waster. He has appeared at theatre festivals from Edinburgh to Brighton and written scripts for some of the best comedy performers of the last four decades, including Bob Monkhouse, Leslie Phillips, Tracey Ullman, Joan Sims, Stan Freberg and Rory Bremner. In his spare time, he enjoys name-dropping.
THE GREAT UNWATCHED
Broadcaster, comedy writer, actor and freelance waster BOB SINFIELD affectionately nibbles the hand that fed him for 35 years: the radio. Expect tales of disastrous interviews with stars like Rupert Everett (“Oh, I don’t think we want to talk about that”) and the oldest inhabitant of Tunbridge Wells (“I dunno nothing about Tunbridge Wells”), plus a chance for you, yes you, to become the next big voiceover
(terms & conditions apply).
THE GAG TRADE
Bob Sinfield spent 25 years scripting every star on the box, from Lenny Henry and Jasper Carrott to Tracey Ullman and Rory Bremner. Now he tells all about the life of a jobbing jokesmith and the
celebs he tried to ‘gag’.
GENTLEMAN OF JAZZ
Tells the fascinating story of George Chisholm, from his boyhood in a part of Glasgow that made the Gorbals seem upmarket to a 50-year career in jazz that earned him the OBE. Broadcaster Bob Sinfield describes Chis’s eventful and often hilarious double life as trombonist and comedian, a combination that led him to work with everyone from Ambrose to Armstrong, from Goodman to the Goons, from
Sinatra to Superman.
BOB MONKHOUSE - WHO KNEW?
A merry trawl through the eventful and colourful life of a great British comedian, including quiz questions and maybe even a modest prize.
Each show lasts 45 minutes or thereabouts and involves
Bob talking a lot with the odd prop!
Katie is a stupid idiot who likes to prance around, often with props, costumes, and musical instruments.
She has also run 3 London Marathons and got addicted to them and had to quit doing any more, which she feels is important to note.
